Mario the Magician featuring Chris Donohue and the Sleight of Hand Band
Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 am Meet the Artist Saturdays David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, Frieda and Roy Furman Stage
In the vein of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and vaudeville-style theatre, get ready for a one-of-a-kind interactive morning with Mario the Magician. Mario’s show is at once ridiculously silly and meticulously crafted. Mario will perform a variety of magic tricks, fostering creativity and allowing kids to discover their own artistic spirit in a fun, accessible way. Mario’s performance will be accompanied by his Sleight of Hand Band, a four-piece jazz combo led by Chris Donohue.
Mario Marchese is a full-time magician who specializes in performing for children. He has performed for The New York Times, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Discovery Communications, and FAO Schwarz. He has published a book of children’s magic card tricks for Barnes & Noble, and there is a display of Mario’s handcrafted magic art pieces at the world-renowned Tannen’s Magic Store.
