Vlada Tomova: Green Songs
Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00am Meet the Artist Saturdays David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, Frieda and Roy Furman Stage
Songs for the whole family straight from Vlada's garden.
Songstress Vlada Tomova shares songs both ancient and new from the villages of her native Bulgaria and other lands, near and far. She also loves growing sweet tomatoes, raspberries, basil, strawberries, and colorful beans in her current village of residence, Brooklyn. Figs, giant sunflowers, rosemary, peaches, and asparagus grow among many flowers and other plants in Vlada's Brooklyn community garden.
She also seems to possess a mysterious power for bringing cut Valentine roses back into bloom. Learn how to plant peppers, spot the first leaves of spinach poking through the soil, and grow a strawberry at your bedside - in stories, pictures, and song.
